As well, David meticulously analyzed the structure of our home and our old hardwood floors. David fully explained the installation process ensuring that the entire process would run smoothly. David could not have been more thorough in ensuring the successful installation of the hardwood.

Installation was carefully done with precise attention to detail. Two of Summit Custom Hardwood’s highly skilled professionals, Peter and David O., completed the hardwood flooring installation. Peter and David O. were punctual, courteous, professional and a joy to have in our home. We would like to note that old flooring had to be removed first. Peter and David O. completed this arduous task with efficiency, care and proceeded to install the sub-floor for the glorious new hardwood flooring. We want to commend Peter and David O. for their obvious craftsmanship. These two professionals take great pride in their work and it shows. We are thrilled with the results. Peter and David O. installed extraordinary handmade original heat vents. Our hardwood flooring is the talk of the town! We feel like we have a brand new home.

Dear Dave,

I wish to commend you and your staff for the fine work you did on the restoration and refurbishment of the original cork floor in the Alberta Legislature Library. As you know, the floor was installed over 100 years ago and the intervening years were not necessarily kind to it. Bad repair jobs, harsh wear and tear in high traffic areas, direct sunlight, and various cleaning products all contributed to the worn state of the cork. It was not a straightforward undertaking. The complication of having the space painted at the same time while still being an operational library meant a lot of coordination, flexibility and expertise.

I was so pleased about the obvious care you and your crew took throughout the process. From the initial consultation, strategy, and planning to the final walkthrough, cleaning and unveiling and beyond, your attention to detail and concern that the floor was properly looked after was much appreciated.

When the Alberta Legislature Building celebrated the official centennial of its opening on September 2, 2012, Summit put in the extra effort to ensure that the Library was ready to be part of the festivities. We have just gone through our second major public opening since the work was completed (Canada Day 2013) and the floor continues to handle the increased traffic beautifully.

Please find enclosed a USB key with photographs taken throughout the process, as well as, two short Powerpoint presentations. It is only through the photos that you can gain appreciation for the  challenges that were involved in this project.

Again, the professionalism each and every Summit employee displayed and the quality workmanship they completed is much appreciated! It ensures the Legislature Library will have another 100 years to enjoy the ambience which springs from the original cork floor! Thank-you for your superior work!

From the moment I was greeted by Elton to the outstanding installation completed by Dennis I was treated like a valued customer! Elton completely educated me on the different types of flooring, the pros, cons and process. David came to my home and provided a detailed estimate within two hours of his visit. Sheldon arranged delivery of the product and kept in constant contact throughout the entire process from start to post installation. Dennis completed an extremely professional and detailed installation. He was very meticulous and left the home neater than he found it. Summit Custom Hardwood played a significant role in the renovation of our kitchen. We removed a wall which necessitated repairs to the hardwood flooring. The style of hardwood flooring was rather unique and required them to locate the appropriate boards for replacement and manufacture some pieces. They did a fantastic job of ‘feathering’ the hardwood flooring so there is actually no indication that the floor was ever anything but perfect. They matched the wood perfectly and then completed the job with sanding and finishing.

They were at all times professional, showed up on time, did great work and were pleasant to have around. I would recommend them without hesitation.
